Satsuma offers complete linguistic solutions for the Latin American market since 2003. Founded by Ana Vivacqua, localization professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry, Satsuma focuses on software localization, technical and marketing translations, machine translation post-editing, proofreading, quality assurance, as well as localization engineering and desktop publishing (DTP).
Our purpose is to communicate to bridge distances. We aim to be a localization reference in the Brazilian market to foster professionalism in the industry. As such, our work combines the expertise of our team and focuses on our clients with a commitment to agility and constant learning.

Our brand, inspired by the mandarin ("satsuma" in Japanese), and its characteristic segments, symbolizes the combination of all these values that compose Satsuma’s DNA. To us, it is the combination of these parts that makes us a better company for our employees, our business partners and society as a whole.
Meet our team
Ana Vivacqua
Founder and CEO. Studied Translation at PUC-Rio and has since then worked in several multilingual translation companies, in Brazil and abroad. In her 7 years in the USA, she started out as a translator and worked her way up to production manager. Back in Brazil, she founded Satsuma in 2003. She also holds an MBA from Ibmec Business School in Rio.
Luiza Brando
Vendor Manager. She started at Satsuma as a translator in 2015, right after earning a BA. in Translation at PUC-Rio, where she also pursued a graduate degree in Translation Techniques, Practices, and Studies, and Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language. Since then, she worked as reviewer, quality specialist and translation coordinator in strategic accounts. Currently responsible for all aspects related to sourcing services and supporting operations and sales.
Luiza Ferreira
Lead Linguist and Media Coordinator. As a graduate in Journalism at UFF and post-graduate in Translation Techniques, Practices and Studies at PUC-Rio, she has been at Satsuma since 2018. Supervises linguistic quality for our clients as well as coordinates content creation for Satsuma’s media channels.
Marina Fontenelle
Translation Coordinator. As a Bachelor degree in Translation from PUC-Rio, she began her career as a translator at a local translation agency. She joined Satsuma in 2020 and is responsible for one of our largest customers.
Memberships
Satsuma believes in the exchange of information and ideas with our peers as an instrument for growth. We actively participate in industry events and business associations to continue our growth and help the industry to flourish. To achieve that goal, Satsuma has teamed up with other industry leaders in Brazil to create BLISS, the first association of language service companies in the country. Our CEO, Ana Vivacqua, is currently serving as the Marketing Director for BLISS.
In addition to being founding members of BLISS, Satsuma is a member of prominent industry associations such as GALA and Amcham Brasil.
